PEOPLE:
Founding partners Mick Richmond and Stephen Bender each received Bachelor of Design degrees from the University of Florida College of Architecture and Masters' in Architecture from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. With over twenty years' combined professional experience in projects ranging from residential to daycare and university projects, we are licensed in Florida and have the ability to create personalized, intuitive and memorable architecture and design.
ENVIRONMENT:
An ecologically responsive approach to design pervades everything that we do. It is our belief that sensitivity to design in the built environment through program and site analysis, formal building strategies, systems' design, and product selection can, and must, lower the energy footprint of any building projects. We are LEED accredited professionals, and can consult to prepare a plan to improve the environmental effects of virtually any construction project.
ABOUT OUR NAME:
“meta” is a prefix that speaks our ideology. It means beyond or about, transcending, transformed, more comprehensive, more highly organized or specialized. It is only the first part of a word, incomplete on its own. Our clients complete it. “meta” is about how design and architecture can take us into the future. It is all these things but it is also fun. Because we are process oriented, we involve our clients, surprise them and hopefully outperform their expectations. We believe the design process can be an entertaining, engaging and transforming experience for clients, families and businesses. meta design : architecture's designs adhere to a consistent set of ideals that guide all of our work giving it a strength and consistency that we pass on to you, your employees, and your customers.
SERVICES:
meta-design:architecture offers a full range of architectural and design services, including Programming, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration for residential, community, commercial and institutional clients. In addition, we can prepare Feasibility Studies, Master Planning and Programming documents, and other pre-design services. We are developing a range of “Plan Book” type designs that are Owner adaptable to specific sites, in an effort to provide an alternative to the existing low-cost home design market. Our clients include commercial and non-profit enterprises, homeowners and developers, and our personal experience includes a wide range of very large institutional projects.
OUR TEAM :
We have developed professional relationships with a wide range of consultants, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, artists and rendering specialists, and graphic designers. We have a good working relationship with contractors and builders we can bring to most construction projects, or we can help to find a contractor and negotiate with them on client's behalf.
